Landscape Lighting Design & Installation
Professional low-voltage LED landscape lighting for the finest homes on North Shore Long Island and Queens. Custom designs that highlight your trees, gardens, and hardscape after dark.
What Landscape Lighting Does for Your Home
Great landscape lighting transforms a property after sunset. Mature oaks become glowing canopies. Stone walls reveal their texture. Garden beds keep their color long after dusk. Walkways guide guests with a warm, welcoming light that's elegant — not institutional.
For more than 15 years we've been designing and installing landscape lighting systems for homes across North Shore Long Island — from Manhasset and Great Neck to Cold Spring Harbor, Lattingtown, and Plandome — and select Queens neighborhoods. Every system uses solid brass and copper fixtures, low-voltage LED technology, and direct-burial wiring built to last 20+ years.
Every project starts with a free on-site design consultation. We walk your property after dark, listen to how you want to use your outdoor space, and deliver a written design proposal with no obligation.
Landscape Lighting Techniques We Use
Great landscape lighting design is about layered light from multiple techniques — never a single approach for the whole property.
Uplighting
Fixtures placed at the base of trees and architectural features, washing light upward to create height, drama, and a layered nighttime canopy.
Moonlighting
Soft downlights mounted high in mature trees, mimicking moonlight filtering through branches across patios, lawns, and walkways.
Downlighting
Fixtures positioned above to wash light down on garden beds, hardscape, and seating areas — perfect for natural, flattering ambiance.
Silhouetting
Lights placed behind specimen plants and sculptures to create dramatic silhouettes against walls, fences, or evening sky.
Grazing
Fixtures placed close to stone, brick, or textured surfaces to highlight depth, shadow, and architectural texture.
Path Lighting
Low-profile fixtures along walkways and garden paths, providing safe passage with a warm, welcoming glow.

Landscape Lighting — FAQ
How much does a landscape lighting installation cost on Long Island?
A typical residential landscape lighting installation on Long Island's North Shore ranges from $3,500 for a starter package to $25,000+ for a comprehensive estate-wide system. Pricing depends on fixture quality, transformer sizing, design complexity, and total fixture count. We provide free on-site consultations with detailed written proposals.
How long does landscape lighting last?
A professionally installed low-voltage LED landscape lighting system using premium brass and copper fixtures should last 20+ years with routine maintenance. The LED lamps themselves typically last 30,000-50,000 hours (15-20 years of nightly use). Fixtures, wire, and transformers are designed for decades of outdoor service.
Do landscape lights need to be installed by an electrician?
Low-voltage landscape lighting (12V) doesn't require an electrician for the wiring runs themselves, but a licensed electrician is needed to install the GFCI outlet that powers the transformer. We coordinate that step on every project. The design, fixture placement, and beam aiming work — that's where lighting designers add the most value.
Will landscape lighting work in winter on Long Island?
Yes. Properly installed low-voltage LED systems are built for year-round outdoor use, including North Shore winters. Fixtures are sealed against moisture, wire is direct-burial rated, and transformers are weatherproof. We do recommend a fall maintenance visit to clear leaves, re-aim fixtures, and check connections before snow season.
Can I add landscape lighting to an existing home without tearing up the yard?
Yes. Low-voltage landscape lighting wire is buried only 4-6 inches deep using narrow trenching tools that minimize landscape disruption. Most installations are completed without any visible damage to lawns, garden beds, or hardscape. Plant beds heal completely within a season.
